Does that mean that in a month the sheath will turn grey and you'll have to dye it again?

Not my usual carry, but I'm breaking in a new sheath I just made, so... the Farmer is pairing up with the Midnight Manager today.

Not even close to some of the other work in here but I'm just getting started and this is my second attempt to something serious (first was a wallet for a friend). While doing the spirit x 30 days challenge I realized that horizontal carry was the way to go. So I made a leather sheath with magnet closure. I have found a number of thing I should have done differently so consider this a prototype. But it does the job and rides nice on the belt. Not wetformed but still a nice snug fit

I dyed it after a was done and unfortunately I got a bit messy with the glue

Good looking prototype And it looks very functional, which is most important

Not to bad, the first one I did wasn’t even leather, it was a combo  for a flashlight / mt, I spent a good 3hrs  cause the flashlight I bought didn’t have a sheath. After that I really wanted leather so I made just kept making them. I’m still no great but here’s a look on how I started..

Totally! I made one other one for a friend and it was perfect, only thing was it was a kit! Some of these leather stores have kits where everything’s cut to size, the edges are nice and smooth and there pre-poked for stitching, and the only thing you have to do is glue some things, stitch them, and put a button or magnet on, only thing is the size, normally isn’t always right for your item, you want one for a flashlight and it’s a maglite, that and the holes for the stitching are huge!

I have never tried a kit. Might be good to get some nice pattern

Idk about over your way but here’s an idea of what I was talking about. It’s a combo, knife/flashlight. But as you can see it’s made specifically for a maglite, as for the knife/tool idk? But you get pieces pre-cut and ready to put together, same with the button along with the needle and thread. What you don’t get is the design, the leather is just plain so you can make it the way you want, but they do put the pattern on paper for the possibility..
