Me too congrats to the winners! Beautiful collections you have.

To me it seems a little bit odd that Victorinox organised a photo contest, but afterwards selects the winners on their enthusiastic stories, and not on photographic qualities.

Is that how they did it?
If so, maybe this is just crazy talk (coming from someone who just barely needs two hands to count their "collection"), but that allows the "little guys" to compete with the "big guys".  :)
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!

From memory - Right from the start they said:
1. We want to hear your collection stories
2. Show us the pics that tell the story

Looking f to hearing the winners' stories

You're right.
Probably I was misguided by the use of the word 'show' and did I emphasize it too much. I read almost all the stories that accompanied the pictures and my guess is a lot of people didn't understand that the story was more important, or at least as important, than the picture.

Nevertheless these winners have fantastic collections! Much better and nicer than mine. Must tell you that my 'collection' is stowed away in some obscure drawers in my attic. No comparing to the beautiful storages they display!
My only hope is that they post pictures of the knives they won!!

They didn't take the picture into account as a primary selection, yet my 2 submission tries were never showed. Probably because there was 1 leatherman on the bottom drawer.

Wow look at that collection of Haoran Yang, with those rare 111mm army issues, multiple black beauties, four(!) alox Dutch Air Force knives (and 15 regular ones...)  :o

Unbelievable, I count 19 blue KLU property knives and at least 5 different types. :ahhh
How on earth can someone in China obtain so many DAK's of the rarest types?? This collector is really amazing. Chapeau!!

If his story is not about a whole lot of money, I will be surprised...but maybe I'm wrong.

I saw knives going to china for 4-5 times the market value.

The story of Peter Fuchs sounds amazing. As far as I know, he is collecting knives with little money and spend hours cleaning and putting them in this foam-frame. This sounds really passionate!

I am most thankful that other guy didn't win anything. I never did receive any feedback from Victorinox.
A little Leatherman information.
