That's just

I've got to learn how to do that.
Are the pins hard to come by?

Just seeing the replies guys  and thanks :hatsoff:

The pins I used were standard instead of metric but after a year and a half it is still doing pretty good :tu: I sanded down the bigger pin stock to match the 2.2 mm though and that also worked fine :salute: As far as finding the pin stock it was much easier than getting the in line awl :ahhh :D You can tear a Pioneer apart to get one but if the knife is in good shape then I can't bring myself to do it :-[ :D Modding is fairly straight forward as long as you have a few of the tools to do it and I had all of them beforehand :tu: Plus we have plenty of people on here with modding experience that can answer all sorts of questions :like:

Lovely pictures but those "aqua" scales make me wish Victorinox weren't quite so keen on regular blue and regular red... think of all the other colours that are possible!

Lovely green! Was that a Vic original or did the scales come from somewhere else?

Thanks . . .

Had to go digging back to when I acquired the Climber and some scales I had bought around that time. I believe it came with the generic red. Whatever color, they were in well worn condition. Replaced them with the emerald thinking they were an appropriate color for its tool set.

Sinar Photography, AG is a Swiss camera company specializing in extremely high resolution "view" cameras for commercial studio, landscape, reproduction and architectural photography, the extremely large digital backs for them, and the software for processing the RAW images captured by them. Found this BNIB Cybertool M with their branding on ePrey some time back at much less than they normally sell for.

A "view" camera, sometimes referred to as a "technical" (in studio) or "field" (on location outside studio) camera is a large format. With film (which is still used) they use large 4"x5" and larger sheet film negatives (the other common size is 8"x10"). Think in terms of what you've seen in the movies set in the late 19th Century with the photographer dude using the monster camera on a heavy wood tripod with black cloth hood on the back, using large glass plate negatives. These are the modern versions of them. If you're going to make a photograph the size of an entire wall, you're not going to use a high end 35mm format digi camera which maxes out at about 11"x17" or so for high-res and high-def commercial work (won't debate this; I've used small and medium format too much for professional work on the side). Medium format 6x4.5cm, 6x6cm, and 5x7cm will get you a solid 16"x20" to about 32"x40", maybe a little bigger but you need world class glass lenses and the knowledge of how to use them for max resolving power (lenses have resolution limits; some are much better than others). For an entire wall, you're going to use large format technical or field camera. I'd be thinking Schneider-Kreuznach or similar high grade lenses. Depending on how huge the print, you would use a 4"x5" or an 8"x10" camera. That's the size of the negative, literally a sheet of film. You have to see extremely large high resolution 8'x10' prints (that's in feet, not inches) you can walk up to and view from a foot or closer with a magnifier and still not run out of fine detail at the limits of human visual acuity. Most folks have never really seen very large prints with exceptional resolution.

Trivia Question:
Who can identify all the cameras shown in these photographs? One should be relatively easy, another not too difficult except perhaps to nail it exactly and the third might be a tough one . . .

Posing The Talent among appropriate small format props . . .

On set for the portrait with The Talent . . .

Very nice SAKs, y'all!
Just put a new dress on the Champ I bought from Mike. :D
I splurged and got Sapphire Plus scales. Removal of red pluses was good and putting on the new scales went well.
Pics of champ in next post.

Love this thing. Now I get why Poncho went with Sapphire.
Last pic with Emerald Climber (original), Ruby Spartan Lite (original), and SilverTech Champ XLT (add-on).

Thanks jalind! Thanks to you, I need a Ruby clipper.  :like:
