Surge rattles

I was reading some of the old posts and saw where some people were having problems with their Surges rattling.

I have one original Surge and 4 new Surges. Two of the new ones rattled when I first got them.

They only rattled when the tool was closed, so I got to examining them closely and realized that the pliers heads on both tools were just a little too thick and when I closed them they were springing the sides of the handle out just enough that the inner tools would rattle.

I used a flat 600 grit diamond stone and just removed enough material on the two flat sides of the pliers heads so that they would not spring the handle outwards.

It only took a couple of minutes and I have never had a problem with them rattling since.

Just thought I would post this in case anyone else is having the same problem.
