Dammit.

Y'know, before finding this forum, I had:
-One MagLite
-Two Leathermans
-Two Victorinox Swiss Army Knives, one of which had been a gift.

Now?
-Five MagLites
-Eight Leathermans
-Six Vic Swiss Army Knives.

All that just since this summer. Y-yikes! This is not sustainable

This is a great site, but man, we need to start another site: Multitools Anonymous!

Don't feel bad Thundah. I had just a few Gerbers and Leathermans when I joined. Since June THIS YEAR it has ballooned into 30 or so Leathermans, 20+ Gerbers, 10 SOGs, 20+ other-brand MTs, 2 Vic SwissTools, and 9 91mm SAKs.

I have collected pocket knives and flashlights for years, so I won't count them.

I may have a problem.

Hi Alan,

Yes, I have seen those. They don't even register on my "chub" Richter scale. (Scale. See what I did there?)

I like all Stainless. I can appreciate Black Oxide, but mixing the two...maybe not for me.

And shame shame on Leatherman for charging extra for something that took no more effort then swapping boxes of components between the SS and BO assembly lines. It's not like these are colors they don't normally produce such as coyote or deep forest green. They already have all of these parts being mass produced in both finishes.

I don't think any shame is necessary in this case... the prices on this edition of the Wave/Surge are only $5 more than the BO version. It makes sense that the BO version is more expensive than the SS version, and creating the mixed tools does disrupt their normal assembly lines. (If you're ever in the Portland area, take their factory tour... it's pretty impressive.) A $5 uptick in price for these seems reasonable to me.

A pint!? Don't sell the man short, he's only just starting! Thundah, you need proper quart. With a shot in it. You know, to catch up.

The trick is to just set reasonable limits for collecting.
I have got a foolproof plan... I will only collect red SAKs  :tu:
