... Disco mode... I do not mind it.Many of my lights have an SOS signaling mode, in addition to strobe. I see it as the pin hole in victorinox scales. It does not take up any more space and it may come usefull.The hidden strobes are usually better/less intrusive, but you may forget how to access them in an emergency.
I've used strobe mode walking my kids around on Halloween. Really fun. On occasion, I put two flashlights with different strobe rates together for some super-funky syncopation!

No , in fact I now go out of my way to only buy flashlights without it if possible.Ditto for Moonlight mode as well, and no head twist feature. Although I did capitulate eventually on that ( twisty head) with my keyring light I just got.
So, what you're saying is.......... I like strobe when its hidden. If I have to cycle thru strobe then I'd probably not feel the same. Blinking or SOD mode is ok too. I don't think most would know SOS mode, would they? I mean if I engaged SOS mode would most know I need help?
