BuSchröder with alox Woodsman and Opinels #12.  I like blade-and-saw combos.

I liked the idea for the +B Bushcrafter, as the Lumberjack seemed to me like the opener would be the least useful thing to someone in the woods, building all sorts of camp crafts.  I would much prefer an awl in that situation.  That said, I still liked the Farmer for that type of camping,  in case someone brings or finds any food and drink needing opening, as well as the odd tinkering job.  I suggested that the Farmer could be renamed as the First Class Scout.

No doubt the Farmer is a great scout knife.

The Bushcrafter will appeal more to the two-layer-Tuesday crowd. It´s a nice complementary tool  for city slickers carrying a Compact who go out into the bush for a while.

Here´s the BuSchröder with Compact and Weekender.

I prefer the BuSchröder/Weekender combo over a Farmer because it adds a serrated blade and a corkscrew. For urban survival, the Compact adds scissors, hook, pin and pen.

Lightweight bush essentials.

I saw a Farmer review on Youtube where someone complained that the saw on his Farmer would not lock, rendering it useless as a fire starter. Instead, he said, he preferred a Leatherman (I forgot which one it was) on which the saw blade was linerlocked. I guess he never watched any other Farmer reviews because many show how to use the awl for fire starting.

I requested a mod user badge for the BuSchröder. It deserves one.

Newer members may wonder about the origins of the BuSchröder name.  That is is a closely guarded secret known only to No Lifers and I would like it to stay that way. You´ll find out in due time.  :salute:

No, you have to think outside the box. Inside the pocket, outside the box.  :D

This particular box stores some common 84mm and 91mm SAKs, only a small part of my collection.

Welcome to the club, #3  :tu:   :like:

The peening on mine is not perfect (modder´s words), but snap is. For a work knife peening doesn´t matter as much. Is the awl doing fine now?

Thank you
I agree, as long as it's tight enough to function it's fine, at the end of the day looks don't really matter on a work knife
The awl is still sticky, i need a smaller hammer i think as the reason for it being so tight can only be that i tightened it too much, i'm not quite sure how to rectify it as i don't really want to drill it out and redo, it works fine it just has no snap either end, hopefully it will loosen in time  :tu:

Listening to some awesome Black Metal today and it inspired me to carry my BuSchröder - I don't need much encouragement though.

I still carry mine, every single day. Most of my other SAKs are stored away and don´t get carried anymore.
