That's the first I've seen of those.  It'd be cool if Spyderco got more involved in MTs.  Thanks for sharing.

I thought they tried to launch these years ago and never materialized?

It would be cool to see them actually get produced this Time!

they're having their biggest catalog yet for 2018, these are their second attempt at the MT world. Not that bad for a new try IMO

I wonder how they will perform compared to a Vic centurion or similar model.

8cr13mov garbage, I'll pass. I wish people would work with AUS-8A or AUS-10 more again, that's a budget steel I like.

They're alright, I guess. I think the rescue knife should at least have one of the thumb holes rectangular and sized to turn the valve on oxygen bottles though, I mean if they really expect it to be used by rescue personnel.

but, being a Spyderco nut you'll also be carrying the Assist, Rescue, Tusk or Atlantic Salt model(s) so you'll have that bases covered!!  :twak:

Interesting models,  although I think Spyderco fell victim to itself with the likely useless OHO tool features. How exactly would a right handed person to open the can opener!

On a more serious note, why have a locking knife blade, and non locking screwdrivers?

I don't understand it at all - they had something that was genuinly interesting and desirable (to some) a few years ago with the Spyderwrench -  I don't understand why the cant build off that???

I am one of those strange guys that likes the spyderench. I wish it was still part of their line up, or maybe release another multitool that was original in design. The tool industry is quite a large one in spite of the dominance of that by knives. This community is a testament to how popular they are and how diverse the people are who love these pocket toolboxes.

It is way more profitable to just make knives.

MT has a lot of parts, so more cost on design and production.
Warranty cost is high because people are more likely to use it.
Then there is a limit on how much they can sell them for, very few people pay over $100 for a MT while knife nuts willing to pay a lot more for knives they barely use.

It's like someone found a Vic Recruit in the parking lot, and then they tried to copy it with their design paradigm. I appreciate that a knife like this going to be more profitable than a full fledged multi, and they are showing more imagination than Leatherman has in the past few years, but still... Seen it for generations, done it better.

I don't think it's at the level of barf, but it is at the level of snooze.
