phillips won't fit screw
on: December 14, 2017, 02:06:07 AM
I did a search on here to determine what size the 58mm phillips screwdriver is but surprisingly couldn't find a single topic about it.  I'm trying to disassemble my laptop but the 58mm phillips is too big and won't fit the screws.  I did a google search for phillips screwdriver sizes and determined that the smallest screwdriver size is #0 which i read is what the 58mm is so why won't it fit?

Look very closely many manufacturers have gone to star or torx screws. They can look like phillps but they are completely different. I suspect that may be your problem.

Just a small personal observation.  ...........I would not be at all surprised that when God created the Earth & the heavens, that the SwissChamp was the tool he used. .............. :hatsoff:

I've compared the philips on a old Passenger from the 1980's with a modern explorer and the  Philips now has a blunter and slightly wider head possibly to cater for the modern Pozi drives.
