That bolt must have made R2's circuits water a bit

I'll just add that here we have full-sized "Nativity Scenes" in schools, churches and cathedrals and you often find a human sized version of each character and animal, this one included (although more often in schools, theaters and non-religious compositions and actings)   :D

This reminds me of the Norwegian painter. Odd Nerdrum. I went to one of his exibitions when I was younger, and I was not ready for what i saw inside that gallery.
Google him at your own risk....

With a statement like that, the first thing I had to do was look him up.

Yes, The painting titled Twilight is of particular veracity towards the topic at hand.

not even a month after the thread was born, I finally dismantled my Nativity Scene today. You can see the Caganer (the one who poops) and the Pixaner (the one who pees)

the Pixaner is usually put in the scene next to the river, where it pees (you can see it here woth the hat left side of the river), and the caganer is usually hidden in the bush doing what he knows best.
Here they are at both sides of the peasant in the sand trail,

and you can also see the "Caga-Tió" (Christmas log) on the left of the Pixaner in the first pic, another typical tradition here (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ti%C3%B3_de_Nadal), in which a wooden stump or piece of fallen tree is decorated with human face features and a red cloak, and kids beat it up with sticks and then leave some food in front of it (cookies, tangerines, etc.) and leave it rest, so that the next day he defecates and when kids go to check he has gifts or presents for them under the cape/cloak  :D

These two folks are long time traditions here  :tu:

A tree stump that you beat with sticks until it poops out presents?

I think I need to move to Spain.  These traditions seem like exactly the kind of things I would come up with.

Somewhere a bunch of Saints are looking down on the Nativity scenes and saying "I told you they'd do it!"

yes, makes much sense...we feed it nicely and sing a song for it, then beat it to pulp and come back afterwards to collect its smurfs and enjoy them.
