Recommend a small flashlight
on: December 19, 2017, 01:29:12 PM
Hello boys and girls.  :waving:

I'm looking for a small flashlight, no larger than a chapstick tube.
Preferably running on one AAA.
Back button, no twisties.
No modes, just on and off would do.
Not sure about lumens.

Fire away, and thanks.

Lumintop tool, has modes, but there aren't a lot of options for AAA clicky and this is one of the best in that category

I believe Nebo had a few models. Don't know if they're small enough, though.

The Lumintop tool or Streamlight Microstream sounds like what you are looking for

It seems that twisties dominate the chapstick size.  :-\

I use the Factor Equipment MIZPAH 130 compact AAA flashlight, a bit larger than a Chapstick tube but similar to the Lumintop in size, design and price plus more lumens. You can always use Factor Equipmen 20% off discount code and get it for les$.

does it have to be a tailcap clickie? there is also the manker e02, ultratac k18. tailcap clicky zanflare f3 is $12, they all have modes, but to me that is a Plus.

Looks like the simple on/off design lights will soon be a thing of the past so might as well get use to the annoying multi-mode flashlights. Off/On-Low and High modes are good enough for me

+2  I have one on my house keys.  I went for the brighter single level one.  I have lots of other lights I could carry, but this one has prevailed over all the rest.

Moving length to the top of my priorities, there are some options to consider.

Olight i3E EOS
60mm length
-Nice!

Fenix E99
66mm length.
Short enough.

Rayus C01
68mm length.
Chapstick length. Just about right.

Pkus you can get the Olight in different materials and some of them are 120 lumens :o This copper one is at the 120 mark :salute: The regular colors are at 90 so still not shabby ;) Plus you can add a suspensiopn clip and then put it in your pocket and forget about it until needed :dd:

The silver version I have is also 120 lumens  :)  I don't like the smell of the Cu lights I've had in the past (plus they are heavy by comparison with Alu ), I will admit that Cu is a better heatsink, and the patination can look wonderful  :tu:

I had a silver as well  but it must have grew legs and walked off because I can't find it anywhere  I already had the copper as a weekend carry light so it became my EDC light and has turned a very nice patina already :like: I am sure it smells like an old penny but I have never really smelled it :D

Looks like a nice light.  :tu:
But I think that ReamerPunch is looking for a light around or less than 70mm long? At least all of the possible options that he has selected so far are shorter than 70mm.
And the p3 appears to be over 90mm long, maybe too long.

Oh and welcome by the way!
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!
