The marlinspike of the Helmsman and Skipper SAKs can be used as a shackle opener.

"Iroka Rostfrei" knife with a massive marlin spike.
My understanding is that this is a German Navy knife but I haven't done much research on it.

Never carried or used it but I'm getting some inspiration from this thread :D

A small and useful marlin spike clasp knife from Sheffield, England. Used to be issued to British forces, though today I don't know. The blade is easy to extract in gloved hands, and without fingernail. The can/bottle opener has a sturdy point. Strong back springs.

Yes it is.  It is the standard issue of the German navy (Bundesmarine). They were/are made by a small number of manufacturers.  I have one made by Fox Knives of Maniago in Italy.

I'll try and find the link I had that listed all the manufacturers, there were only 5 (or maybe 6)

They are all built to the exact same spec and are really very good and robust knives :)

Myerchin Titanium 300s, a 1st gen with partially serrated blade and a 2nd gen with plain edge.
Was on Myerchins website last night "window shopping"!

How do you like it? Been looking at a rigging knife to carry on the boat other than just my Charge. (Worried about rust)

They are amazing little knives. Very capable. So light you forget you are carrying them and both the blade and the spike lock open.  On the older knife you depress the bail to unlock the blade or spike and the newer model has frame locks. One word of caution, Myerchin doesn't extend the warranty if you buy their knives second hand.  They only cover the original purchaser if purchased from an authorized dealer.

Hi Magentus,

Leoneshop.com

https://leoneshop.com/en/sport_and_hunting/nautical_fishing_diving_knives/boating_knives/fox-sailing-bundes-wehr_knife_230

Their service is excellent - I've got a couple of things from them and they're as easy to deal with as a company in the UK would be  :salute:

Nice - I've looked at these before, they look like a handy blade and you see them a lot in chandlers stores so they do sell to the boaties  :like:
