Can we use a folding knife (OHO single blade only) as a compliment to the tool?  :think:
I've never not carried a OHO folder for 4 years now, and I don't think I'm gonna start now.  Especially since I'm on my moonlight phase with the ZT Nix gifted to me :P

If it doesn't fit in the rules then I'm out, but still following with interest.
Otherwise, and if it is OK to you folks, I'm in with the Spirit + Folder for the challenge   :salute:

Any other restrictions? Can participants carry a secondary knife or is this a one tool only challenge? I believe the last Spirit challenge did allow dedicated knives so we didn't have to rely on the serrated butter blade for everything. I wouldn't have bothered though if I had the Spirit X with the straight edge blade.

I don't have an X yet.  Hoping to have an XBS after the December drawing.  Even if I do I will still cary a dedicated OHO for boxes etc...  This has always been how I have worked as I find box cutting not to be a propper function of a MT, so yes I am good with a secondary single blade folder.  Now as to the butter blade I realy like mine it's been MODDED and no longer has serations,  my pliers are also modded to be true needle nose.

Assuming the Spirit fits my Maxpedition Micro, I'll have to remove a couple of tools, that the Spirit already has. Not a fan of the combo blade, but hell, it'll be a nice test for it.

The handles are slightly twisted already from hard use, so if I completely break them, I'll send them to Dr. VIC. :tu:
Just know I'll be up poop creek if I tear off a fingernail with this challenge. The SwissTool challenge was tough, because of torn off/damaged fingernails. I'll be carrying a small screwdriver in my front pocket in case I need to extract a tool with messed up finger nails.

I did have to give it a scrub in some hot soapy water but after that it looks very nice :dd: It is no where near the finger nail breaker that my Swisstool is though :cheers:

A couple of people have asked about other knife carry.  I have no problem with any one having what ever they need to get through a day.  Just remember the point of a challenge is to put the tool to use in as many ways as possible and report on its successes and failings.  So before grabing that OHO or Slipjoint give the Spirit a shot.  If the Spirit is not up to it then go for the other knife, tool etc... Get the job done and tell us about it.  Take and post pictures of the fails as well as the victories.
