What´s your favorite blade finish?

A friend of mine once told me that some manufacturers do not offer mirror polished blades because it´s too expensive. On the other hand, mirror polished blades would be less prone to rust. What do you think, and what do you prefer?

I like the shiny mirror finish, but I am open to others too

Geometry cuts but the steel determines how long.

Satin would be my first choice. On the right knife as ground or stone washed looks good.

I typically like the look of stone washed, aesthetically pleasing. though it can fall into the tacticool type of stuff which I'm not trying for. Just like the semi distressed look

Mirror polish.
Everything else is asking for rust.
And it's not like I'm on a battlefield, afraid that the glint of metal off my razor-sharp kbar is going to give off my location to the sniper in the belltower or some stupid fantasy BS.

Mirror polish > Satin > Black > bead blasted.
I'll widen that a bit, based on my preference
MIrror polish > Satin > Blackwash (if done well) > Stonewash (if done well) > Black coated (DLC) > Black coated (TiNi) > Black coated (paint, teflon, others) > Bead Blasted

Satin. Stonewash. Other. Coated. Mirror.
Depends on the knife design. Designed properly and aesthetically I'll go for whatever the knife designer had in mind if it fits my styling likes.

here you have, all from one brand, who does a marvelous work at some (Satin, Polished, Stonewash, DLC coating)
and has done greatly for 30 years
and a terrible job at times (Bead Blast, Tuff-Ex coating, simple cheap black paint...
)

On my knives I mostly sand to 400 grit and then polish.......it's not a true mirror polish and it's not hard to do.
The main reason I do it is to look for imperfections.....grind marks etc.
I don't have a problem with anything except truck bed liner

Satin or stone washed for me. However, I am partial to a bo finish - especially when it starts to get that beat-up look -I think that looks fantastic. I don't like a mirrored finish at all... except, that is, on SAKs... for some reason I don't mind that.
That's my tuppence...
