Walmart does it again!
on: December 27, 2017, 12:45:56 AM
Every year, Walmart has knives for $3.87. Most of them are cheap modern folders, and every one I have purchased has actually been a pretty good knife! This year, they had a SAK clone. It is the best SAK clone I have ever tried. The knife is sharp, the tools open with a good snap, and it feels solid like the real thing.  Here is a photo:

I am not sure what SAK this is a copy of as there are so many of them, but I am really impressed with it! Even the scissors work well!! Its only flaw, to me, is the flat philips driver, which I am not crazy about, but it seems to work OK. Have any of you all out there tried one of these yet??

Edit: I just saw Lynn's write up on it, so I guess some of you have seen it! lol

Hope you don't mind if I link to my review of it. 'Walmart's Ozark Trail Ot Knife Multi Tool 8 Function'.

I agree. They did do it again. And AGAIN with their $3.87 plier based 'Ozark Trail 12-in-1 Multi Tool'.

Two good tools this year.

The SAK-alike you mention is like a cross between the Victorinox Climber and Super Tinker. The Climber has a corkscrew, the Super Tinker has a Phillips driver. The Walmart tool has both, but lacks the awl and hook that both the Climber and Super Tinker have. So... it's like a... Tinclimber? :D

If it wobbles, maybe it should be called "clunker!".  :D

By the way, I own two of these, and I have no blade play on either of them.
