Everyone has their preferences, and I am not looking to step on what folks are used to- I was just suggesting an alternative in case it wasn't working for you.  :D

Hmmm... without knowing too much about this, surely SMF 2.0.15 allows to build a timeline as per Tapatalk? I'm going to propose this here:gimme:

Edit: see this post.

My SAK origin story is rather mundane compared to everyone else's.

My father had just passed away, and I was left with a nice assortment of plier based multi-tools. I decided to start collecting multi-tools as a sort of homage to him. I found this web site back in 2008 while trying to find information. By 2009, I had joined up as I had noticed a rather distinct lack of online imagery on multi-tools at the time. As I spent a little more time on the forums, I noticed that there was this Swiss Army Knife forum that I couldn't really participate on...as I didn't have anything of the sort in my house to talk about, or to photograph. After reading this forum for a little while longer, and finding SAKWiki, I thought I should maybe get a few to see what all the fuss was about. I found a now extinct local store selling Wangers for folks to engrave for special occasions. I bought one of everything they had. Here is the original photo that I posted back in 2009 in regards to my purchase...all of what they had were Wengers.

At the time, I was hit with a collectors affliction, and before I knew it, I was collecting them full blown.

Thus, I started to collect them as they met my definition of being multi-functional. I liked that there were so many models to get, and the quality was certainly a big draw for me as well. I unlike most of you, do not have any personal endearments to them other than you guys were a gateway drug of sorts.

Just perusing saks on amazon I think my story was wrong. climbers don't have phillips, so it must have been a tinker, but thought it had scissors so I'm very lost, this was a very long time ago, but the black tinker looks like my first, now I feel the urge to get one, but scissorless ones are less handy, I dont have any black cellidor models aside from my classic

Yeah I'm leaning more towards std tinker, I mean who can forget the hook? I dont think I ever saw the hook until I started buying saks 10 years ago. In terms of buying one, would want a black one(thats what she said? )

then on your sakwiki link it says original super tinker did not have the hook....the mystery deepens, wonder if they were made in black and what year

The hook was only added in the SAK range in 1991.
Most SAK models can be found with black celidor scales.
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!
