Chinese made fishing MT!
on: January 02, 2018, 05:31:34 PM
Recently picked up this monster. Probably not going to use it and it's going into my strange/unusual cheap section of my collection..

Tools are rather decent, all fishing eccentric. But a hex bit driver on a fishing tool?.. Not really complaining but seems a little out of place.. There's one strange long tool that I have no idea what is it for.. anyone can shed some light?

The gigantic scary fillet knife. Probably the only reason I bought this tool.. ;)

The tools include are actually quite ok for a no name brand.. All of them have a positive lock.

That actually looks pretty decent for a cheaper tool.  :tu:

How well do the tool locks work? They LOOK quite functional.

The long blade is at least the right SHAPE for filleting. But I'll be honest, I'm no expert on preparing fish. The handle might be in the way, the blade might not flex enough. I know people who do a lot of fishing can get REALLY picky about their blades.

I guess the hex bit holder is just to make the tool generally more useful, like the can/bottle opener.

Could I ask you to take a picture of that unknown tool closer up and from a different angle? I can't figure it out either.

All things considered, though, it looks pretty awesome. What did you pay for it?

That is an awesome looking MT! Definitely for fishing and not daily carry. :o

It's similar to the one Chako has. He posted lots of pics and even has the implement's specific use mentioned.

Yes, the one I posted is of very good quality. I know it isn't a very common multi-tool. Not sure why I was a bit surprised to see a different version of it out there. That sir is a nice catch.  :tu:

The construction of this is pretty solid. All the tools locks in place with an assuring click. Minimum play. I think I paid around $15usd or $17usd for this as a used item. Not the cheapest, but overall a nice catch indeed.

Looks very much like this one available here in Sweden ( Link to Swedish seller.). I think the tool sold here explains the hex bit holder. It's basically to hold a brass tool (that I can't seem to place) in place and they did think it through enough to give it an extra use.

Local price ~16 USD including sheath and that brass tool.

Edit: so Chako had identified the brass tool as a knot tying guide in his topic.
