Disc Saw?
on: November 06, 2008, 05:24:19 AM
Hey there, I'm looking through the various one handed vic tools....What the heck is the disc saw on the rescue tool? And how well does the glass breaker stay in, it looks removable.

The Disk Saw is designed to saw your way through windscreen's, once the (removable) glass breaker has smashed them :)

The glass breaker and saw are both removable, but both require a bit of effort to remove.  I doubt either would release during use... ever.

I'm recycling this thread cuz I want to know, what all can the disc saw cut? Is it designed to only cut safety glass or would it saw other materials as well?  Anyone done any tests?

The way the teeth are designed it would suck on wood or metal, so glass is really the only thing it is good for.

Well, now that you mention it, I'm a pathologist.  That would be extremely handy--if it cleans up well.  :D

Would you be able to mod an OHT saw to go in there by cutting a slot in it like the one in the glass saw?
