Shocked at local pricing.
on: January 05, 2018, 11:34:10 AM
I was in the local Home Depot the other day and spied a Gerber MP600 Basic hanging on a peg. Listed price was $104.98 Canadian Dollars!  :ahhh

Those prices are just absurd. The Rev was $25US a week ago at Home Depot, Wingman was $25US just yesterday at Lowes.
Hone Depot close to my home has had MP600 Basics forever at $49.99US.

My point was, that even with shipping costs, the prices some of you are seeing around the globe are absurd. At some point the markup on the wholesale prices goes from profit to highway robbery. Just saying.

It's only highway robbery if you're being forced to buy them.  :pok: :D

Sometimes I don't get it. There are some products that are less expensive here than they are in their home countries--Lego would be a good example.   I guess it's a mixture of tariffs, taxes, and shipping costs.

This was something I also found ridiculous. These rescue knives are about ten bucks here in the US, they're $40 in Australia.

I just checked the Home Depot website. They have the black MP600 Basic for $35.50!!! It's CHEAPER than the non BO version. And free shipping to your local store.Super weird.

Oh, hey, also... if you're looking for an MP600, they are worth $36 new all day every day. TOTALLY worth that price.

Maybe that's why they ask "cash or Charge?". You can not have both...

Once in a while, the Multi(tool)verse compels one to buy, even when thr price is too much. :D

yeah problem there is shipping and then you get caught for customs/exise duties it becomes more hassle and expense then its worth.

just see the total cost, with taxes and shipping.

if it is cheaper than locally, get it - if not then don't

You are not buying anything illegal, or trying to avoid paying the tax.

I hear you Dan
I was wanting the Center Drive a few weeks back, but it was over £100 everywhere..No Ta
I just refuse to pay it on principle. It's simply too much money for what is received in return...no value whatsoever.
I have a real love hate relationship with ebay, buying is great but selling...Geez  they completely screw you (well here in the UK that is)
I wanted the Skeketool RX but its over £100 here....they can keep it.
I wanted the SS MUT, again the pricing is ridiculous.

So, I just stopped collecting...and to hell with the lot of 'em!!  :D
