only 58mm can go loose in my pockets.
Otherwise and unless they are on my belt, all my SAKs have danglers or clips

mostly P7 clip clones but also homemade hangers

all I carry is either sheathed or clipped: lights, knives, SAKs or MTs

My toys:

MTs: Surge (2x), Skeletool CX, Rebar, Blast, Fuse, Micra, Squirt (3x), Wave, Crunch, Mini, Spirit (2x), Pro Scout, MP700 (2x), Diesel, Powerlock, PowerPlier (2x), PocketPowerPlier, Blacktip , ST6 (2x), 5WR, A100

SAKs: Bantam, Executive, Ambassador, Minichamp, Classic Alox, Champion, Farmer, Explorer, Swisschamp, Golf Tool, Wenger Champ, EVO 52, Pocket Tool Chest

Maybe it was just the pants I was wearing, but that Swiza just felt horrible laying in the bottom of my pocket.

But then again, all my knives have had pocket clips. I’m not used to having things in my pocket.

Oh the Swiza does not have a lanyard ring...

Dose it have a Corkscrew?  You can attach a lanyard to a CS.

The model I have, the D04, has the Phillips on the backside in place of the corkscrew.

I wear 501s or LA Gear cargo pants ( work ).  I never had a problem with my Swisschamp in my pocket.  I actually used to like the weight and feel of it.  Kinda made me feel secure.  Later as my SAK collection grew my Explorer saw more pocket time.  That was a real change in feeling at the bottom of my pocket.  I've never tried using a dangler or sheath for my Explorer till recently ( sheath ).  I also carried my Farmer or Pioneer in pocket rather comfortably.

I found a neat leather sheath that my Explorer fits in perfectly.  I carried it that way a few days and really liked it.  I also tried carrying my pioneer in the sheath which also was pretty nice.  I mostly carry my 84mm Tinker and that is carried in a pocket sheath like the one shown in this thread.  Pretty comfortable I might add.  I still carry a SAK in pocket but these days its 2 layers max.

For 50 years I have been carrying either a Vic Huntsman or Ranger. I carry my wallet in my rear trouser pocket and my SAK slides down along side the wallet. No clips, bangles, or cords. This method has worked for me quite well.

How I currently carry my SAKMC, a PX paired with a Fenix LD02 inside my right front pocket

(Image removed from quote.)
Where could I get one of these?

I was playing around tonight and came up with an “experimental “ way to carry my new Swiza.

I used an old EZE Lap diamond stone slip and a few items. Not perfect by any means, and certainly not very pretty, but it keeps the Swiza from laying uncomfortably in the bottom of my pocket.

What about the Swiza itself? What are your first impressions?

First impression...

It’s different. The shape and feel are not what I’m used to, but I do like it.   The awl is very sharp though it is sharpened backward to one from a Victorinox or Wenger.

The tools don’t have quite the snap of a traditional SAK, but not horrible.  On mine the blade lock is not working properly. If I tweak the blade a bit, it will close on me. I’m looking into contacting Swiza about it.

I do like it.  Maybe not as well as my Pioneer X, but it’s a decent knife.

All my blue jeans have a small pocket on the front, where the normal one is. In the picture I marked with a blue line where my keys stay on the regular pocket, and with a red line where a 111 Vic stays. The 111mm is a little big, so a part of it stays outside the pocket, but the 91mm sits there perfectly. When I'm wearing cargo pants I just carry the knife in one of the "knee" pockets.

My right front jeans pocket has developed as the favourite position for my SAK. In addition to car keys and separated from them by the house keys (in leather pouch) a SAK (alternatively a LM Rebar) will almost always stay upright against the rear/side corner of that pocket without moving too much. With emptier pockets (rare during daytime), the SAK might cause slight annoyances, but then it kind of depends on the size of the SAK how serious the problem becomes. A Swisschamp will be somewhat more obtrusive.

I like the caddy idea, though.

Edit: I also tried the jeans' fifth pocket (see pic above) but find this uncomfortable when sitting down at my desk. Max SAK length for comfort in that pocket is about 58 mm :D

I have a pair of carpenter jeans that has 2 pockets above/around the knee area, when I put a sak in there with a lanyard its barely noticeable.

Friend of mine in prison avoids this problem entirely by carrying a Rambler up his wazzoo, Christopher Walken style.*

I'd imagine a lanyard would be very useful in that scenario... as a means of quick deployment...

...would sound like opening a wine bottle too...

Before discovering the P7-style clips I preferred carrying more SAKs w/out keyring, like Soldiers..  but now the muscle memory is setting in and I'm awlways reaching for the top corner of my pocket for el clip...  prevents some scratching compared to just having it your pocket... but yawl's pocket cases are pretty cool, just takes up a little too much room for me.

I've got a couple of P7 suspension clips but always seem to catch the end on things if I've got one clipped to my pocket so don't like using them with SAKs.  I don't seem to have the same issue with other clips (Spyderco, Leatherman and Enzo so maybe I need to try a clip with a different shape, or modify the P7 somehow to make it a lower profile.

I've got a Skinth P2 that's pretty good but seems to take up an awful lot of space for what little you can fit in it (5-6 layer SAK or skinny MT like a Rebar/Kick & AA light).  Otherwise I just jam everything (SAK/knife, light, keys, change, etc) in my right front pocket and be done with it.  Wedge enough stuff in there and it stays in place all by itself. :D

I´ve been experimenting with pocket caddies for a while now. My usual way of carrying one is in a vest pocket.

My preferred methods to carry SAK's with and without keyrings in my pockets - only from time to time a SAK finds its place in a coin/watchpocket of jeans.
