Something like this:

See the comments. Some say the newer ones don't have this feature (probably replaced by the intensity adjust mode).

My older Tube lacks the "lock out" feature, while my new one can.  They've always had the intensity adjustable mode though.  Don't know if that's relevant to your situation.

I have/have had 7 NITECORE TUBEs during the last 2 1/2 years and all had the power regulation (intensity) function and not the locking function
 :salute:

Maybe different "models" for US and Europe?...

Olights S10R.......few months on.

It's had a few drop tests, no apparent damage but it's been more a hassle than anything else recently....

Battery doesn't last......

Switch seems to have a mind of it's own

It also turns itself off while in use, not sure if that might be the battery.

what battery are you using? Is it the one it comes with?I know some batteries that are weak will make the olight shut on low voltage protection. theres also a timer feature you can access that shuts the light after a given period of time. You can check the manual about the timer or I can dig one up and tell you how to change it.

ok I instantly regret opening storage box that had all my light, knives and manual cases in it, what a mess, was packed up like a puzzle so I have to figure out the reverse order to repack, ugh.

anyway, this is from the S1, so not sure your model has it.2 timer settings which shut light down at 3 minutes or 9 minutes. When light is on double click side switch enters into timer mode, 1 short blink is 3 min, 2 blinks is 9 min, once it is in one of these  settings double click side switch again to exit.

It's still on the CR123 it came with.........IIRC it's been on the charger about 8 times.

This weekend it messed around again, 2nd lowest setting and it only stays on about 10 seconds, increased the brightness and it stays on

Logically it can't be the switch of the little bit of electronics in there.....has to be the battery.  Maybe it got damaged during one of the drops.....

Run of some bad cells or light or both.  I sure hope you get the S10R worked out.  My S1R has been flawless.  This turbo on mine does power down as does the high but no low modes do.  I recall it has something to do with heat.

Anyways, I hope you get it all worked out.

Lordy, Lordy, Lordy ...........I dont have a clue how many flashlights are in this house. A big bunch to say the least. Most parts of the house just stick out a hand, a flashlight will fall in it. Admittedly most are the 9 to 11 led cheapos that use 3 aaa cells but most of those were free so why not use them, maybe 20 to 30 of them.
Then there are the next step up 18650 tacticals that run 3 for under $20.00. maybe 15 or so of those. 4 o r 5 of the 14500 cheapos. 3 or 4 minimag solitaires. Then 3  better quality Lunintops that I do dearly love. One 3 D cell type maglight clone from tractor supply, you couldn't hurt that thing is you ran over it with said tractor. And I'm sure there are others I just cant think of right now. Plus the ones in my truck, camper , and a couple of
solars that I am looking at right now.

In my house, many years later......NOTHING beats my simple Petzl headlight: two modes, nothing ridiculously bright, and when I need it, it's there.....

I recharged the 2 AAA's about two weeks ago, before that was prior to out hike in May.....and I use it daily.  :salute:

Sorry Gerhard,
You can NEVER have too many flashlights. Therefore buying flashlights is not wasteful. :pok:  :D
Power goes out: First thing you reach for? It is not a knife or an MT. :D

I keep at least five stashed in every room with batteries, ready to go. And I never leave the house without 1 or 2 EDC lights. Mostly LED Maglites, but others sometimes as well.
