Stop blaming the forum and its members for making you buy things and admit that you bought 2000 multitools and 300 knives in the past year because YOU wanted to, not because you were weak and others made you do it !!!!!!!!

Admit it, and feel the release/pleasure/freedom telling the truth brings!!

Seriously though.

When I got her last summer I had 3 Leathermans,  one of which I had just purchased and I was looking for parts, and 2 Swiss Army Knives, one of which was near 30 years old, had shattered scales and crushed layers. So of those, Carry-ready was two Leathermans and one Swiss Army Knife.

When I receive my two purchases this week from members, I will have

6 fully scaled and functioning Victorinox Swiss Army Knives
12 Leathermans, fully functional, one of which remains NIP

Hell. Don't blame the beer. I have been sober for seven months and the MT collection has boomed to over a hundred. I stopped drinking so I could buy more multitools....I think.

Seriously though. I had to stop drinking, because my liver was getting pretty jacked up. MT.o and multi tools have been great outlets to channel my boredom. :tu:

I fully 'fess up!  I was a knifeoholic before I joined MTo. This last year was very productive, probably close to three digits. No multitools, but did have a brief relapse back into traditional slip-joints (tripled the number of Case knives).

Been a bit pricey, but not my most expensive hobby (travel is), and I'm having fun!

When I joined I figured that spending more time taking care of my knives, taking pictures, writing and reading would help me slow down on the buying and appreciate more the hundreds I already have.

And it did! For the first fee weeks; Then I went on the most expensive knife-buying spree of my life... I'm not saying it's because of MTo (knowing about an upcoming dramatically increased cashflow and finding gems was probably a bigger factor :) ). I wanted to buy these and I also voluntarily skipped a lot of good offers.

I do feel, however that a few factors "help"; constantly seeing, talking about, reading about and photographing knives actually makes you think more about them. The more you think about them, the more likely you are to look for them and pull the trigger.

I'm here because I'm an addict and I don't want to stop... I'm not an addict because I'm here but I'm still convinced that being here does fuel it a bit :D I'll stop when I want to stop! For now I'm happy with it.

Bless y'all and blessed be the steel!

I'm not blaming anyone here for my problem.

I blame my measly paycheck. That's the problem.

I'm laughing my nuts off at you chaps
Oh' I've been there...Dear God

That craving for something new and shiny, I practically starved myself to death to save extra pennies to buy more...and the more I bought the more I wanted.
I was averaging £400 per month on MT's and SAKs over a 3yr period then in the final few months as wenger stocks began to dry up I went on a  M A S S I V E  spending spree..Spent almost £3K in less than 2 months in a desperate bid to get all the missing Wenger Rangers I wanted... I bet import duty and Royal Mail import fees alone have cost me well in excess of a grand!!...Absolutely crazy  : took me ages to sort my finances out!

But, what a blast  :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh

To MT'o  :drink:

He He  I'm cured now...ENJOY!  :tu:

I used to be a member of a guitar forum, and that was MUCH more dangerous! I'd buy some kind of really strange unique modded Fender offset style guitar, and then a couple of days later check the forum and see something different and think "oh, I could use that as well".

In comparison, MT buying is slightly more healthy for my wallet  :D

Cedric & Ada Outdoors has really been nailing me recently, his cut test followed by the steel-x "unleashed" videos makes me truly thankful online buying is not an option for me

Last night it was the Police 4 with K390........I was convinced my life couldn't continue without it. :gimme:
