Funny, if that tail part is bright orange there is only one set that it's part of: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?S=31042-1
It does not match the other parts in your pic though :)

There's prolly a kid wandering around the playground searching through tears trying to find the tailfin for their Rebel Alliance X-Wing Robot.

Actually there was an abandoned Lego piece that was in desperate need of rescue from it's eventual sandy forgotten tomb.  :D

I guess so. That would make you a hero of mine sir! As long as you didn't make the story up - I wouldn't condone stealing lego from a child. Unless it was something really good.

I remember reading once about a container of Lego lost overboard due to a freak wave, for years bits have been washing up on a beach in Cornwall, would be interesting to go there and have a look around  :tu:
