Very sad news indeed.  I saw the Cranberries years ago when they were supporting REM and they were every bit as good as the headline act. :salute:

So you missed out on Dolores singing 'Hallowed Be Thy Name' by Maiden, with REM backing her up and Eddie Van Halen coming on with Tony Iommi to do the solos, and then the whole stage catching fire and the crowd rescuing Stipey from the flames and all going back to his trailer for a disco? Best. Night. Ever.

It was great until Steve Harris from 'Maiden turned up demanding royalties - a scuffle broke out between Steve, Tony Iommi and Eddie Van Halen, and then Bruce Dickinson waded in with his fencing foil and things got real. Luckily Peter Buck is a brown belt karate expert and scissor kicked everyone unconscious until the rozzers arrived.

With Pavarotti. Anyone seeing/hearing this without getting misty eyed and feeling a lump in their throat? Sorry to say this, but you're dead...

RIP :(

I cannot lie, I still mostly like The Cranberries and Dolores' voice played a huge part in that.

I remember going to one of their concerts on a June night, at a dock at Piraeus port right next to the water, with a girl I had a crush on for years (and she knew it and would hang around with me, without ever giving in)  :dd:
