Finished this copper work today and wanted to post pics. Lighting isn’t the best. Formed this copper pommel or handle end cap from a scrap piece of 2” diameter copper pipe - which is fairly thick walled.
I cut the pipe lengthwise and flattened with a hammer. Bent the copper at a 90 degree angle and worked it first with a bench grinder to a rough shape. Then I fine tuned the shape with a file to match the dimensions of the Opinel handle. Finished the piece with 800 grit sandpaper and secured using a flexible gorilla glue product. Adds a nice weight to the handle.
Also pictured is a No 8 I shortened. Blade patina is vinegar.
