SAK add on's.
on: January 18, 2018, 05:11:01 PM
What have you stored or added to your SAK to make it more usefull? I've added fire steel toggles  and petroleum jelly and cotton in drink box straws to my corkscrew or like my soldier under the saw and knife blade. This gives me a emergency fire kit on my SAK.

Here's where I got the idea.

FYI the link is broken. The correct URL ends with .html and not .htm

I always add a wrist lanyard to whatever SAK I'm carrying (since high school), and in the last few years I've taken to stringing an LED of some type on it (a Streamlight Nano, Inova Microlight, or similar sized model).  A couple of my backup SAKs also have a BSA Hotspark, and the OH Soldier has a Sliver Gripper with it.

I use this needle trick on my SwissChamp, it works fine with the thicker high strength nylon thread at least, standard I find will begin to catch too much because the tight loops straining it.

This is one tip I've actually found really useful, it's saved my butt with buttons dropping or fabric tearing three times already.

Very cool! :like: I've also heard of people storing threaded needles in their tweezers.
