Calendar thread acting weird
on: January 20, 2018, 08:35:26 PM
Page three won't load in the calendar thread in shutter shop. You can post from page 2 but you can't see it after posting.

yep.

page 3 seems broken. This is not the first time I've seen this happen, it seems to be a totally random glitch on the forum software, and I've never been able to track down why/how it happens.

I split the thread at the end of page 2, and deleted the broken bit, looks like it was generating page 3 before there were enough posts

It seems extremely random, and rare. Thus not wanting to spend too much time dwelling on it.

looks like El Corkscrew attached a massive photo (5777x3786 pixels) and that's what causes it all to go pear shaped.

Usually i resize my photos to less than 1 MB. Sometimes I forget, and I can´t post. I´ll get an error message, but it doesn´t break the site.

it wasn't the file size, it was the actual resolution of the image. TBH anything over 2000x2000 pixels is excessive regardless of the actual filesize on disk, the server checks it pixel by pixel to make a thumbnail and a massive image like that will run out of memory.

and now implemented a fix so that should no longer be an issue. El Corkscrew, try now.
