Just seen the news that Formula 1 has decided to axe the use of Grid Girls.

What's you view ?

Me ? I'm pleased
I don't watch F1 but the use of bikini clad women used as nothing but eye candy  be it in sports or TV and magazine ads is something from the 70's and 80's
Do I really need to see a bikini women next to a pile of tyres or exhaust?

No, I'll stick my neck out and say I think it's a step in the right direction.

Don't watch F1 either but the more that changes to bring true equality and ends the objectification of women the better.

They are holding up umbrellas, I just wanted to act as if I hadn't noticed the sign/umbrella ...  :pommel:

These last years I did notice that some teams in MotoGP already dropped the grid girls, and there was a guy holding the umbrella over the rider/bike (or maybe the grid girl called in sick that day  ;)).

Counter proposal.

We could increase the exploitative objectification of the male body. That would be a more inclusive form of parity and one that creates rather than destroys jobs.

I would like to start with To Hell with the PC BS  :D , I'm sure somebody's a bit pissed off about losing their job.....  :whistle:

I was late to the party, but I became a huge F1 fan in the late 90's.

Haven't watched a race in maybe two years?.......and when I did it was a few incidental minutes.

My big problem if you'll allow me, Lewis Hamilton.......just can't stand him.  Also, there's nobody I really like and support, guess I'll be nostalgic about Schumacher  for the rest of my life.

I see FanBoost from Formula E as the future..........and I hate it with every fiber of my body.

Men will find other ways to be warriors, just won't be on the race track anymore, so I don't care about the girls.  They'll be somewhere else, just as scantily dressed!  :rofl:
