I have been using the ST300 EOD blade on my Surge for sometime now and have found it to be incredibly useful, it is my most used tool in my Surge blade exchanger . The downside is that the blade exchanger will not hold the blade straight firmly enough for straight line cuts in aluminium or steel sheet. In addition although the Surge is a great tool it is large heavy and uncomfortable to wear on the waist, so my preference for EDC is my Charge tti.
So my aim is to change the saw blade on the Charge for a blade exchanger, this has proved to be very difficult, i have concluded that making my own is the only viable option. I have some 0.9mm (0.035" i am bilingual) titanium for the core but a suitable heat treatable steel for the sleave is proving to be more of a challenge. Have any of you engineers and craftsmen out there have any advice on solving this issue.   :dunno:

Hi, yes Metro has added a BE from the Surge to his wonderful mod.  I chose to use the Wave for my Mini Surge BE mod.

I'll find a link for his mod, hold please.

I am never a big fan of the blade changer system.. They works but are usually quite ill fitting. And that would mean carrying extras blades. Being the itchy handed me, I have different saw on my MT hard fixed. One fine and another medium duty metal saw.

:tu:.  Well done.  I've had great success with the blade changer.  The old Surge was a little wobbly but my new surge is very good.  Carrying the extra blades makes my sheath fatter for sure but for me the added carry is awesome when certain material is needed to be cut.  Plus its kinda fun to be able to add pvc or aluminum cutting blade with little effort. YEs I can get away with single saw for either but I have to ability to decide.   :tu:

Having a little hacksaw blade is immensely handy for me, for that reason only I love the blade exchanger. I wish they would develop/evolve it a bit more... and I was pretty disappointed that they didn't include something like it when they relaunched the Wave as the Wave +.

Totally agree Fuzzbucket, if and when i manage to produce an effective t-bar blade exchanger for my Charge i will of course post with photos.
I have seen many folks who have done this on the Wave/Charge tools and also fitted scissors in the file slot. This i do not understand as a file is surely a necessity on a tool with a hacksaw.

One of the things I like a lot about the Crunch is that I can get just about any type of saw blade to fit :D

I honestly think they just didn't want to do it so suckers will buy both the surge and wave. Like how they will not give you a perfect MT. I have one BE adapter from China that can be used and stow with the sawblade attached. Doesn't look nice but works.

Great tool though the Surge t-shank holder is it is too wide to be integrated in to the Charge and repeatedly changing tools during a job can be time consuming, may as well go and get your toolbox and put the multitool away. The blade exchanger mod i am intending to do on my Charge will be too narrow to accommodate the Surge file or saw, that may have to wait for the Super Knifeless Wave future project. For those that do not know the UK in blighted with draconian knife carry laws making a knifeless MT a vital carry option, for our North American cousins this is what happens when people are not allowed guns. The British must never be allowed guns, too mad by far.

Very welcome.  The BE is fairly easy to do on the Wave, given a modding noob like me did it  :tu:.  It was a fun build and its a great tool overall.

I just bought a set of metal cutting blades for my Surge. It seems that the 21 tooth per inch blades match up perfectly with the blade from the ST300 EOD, if anyone is interested.
