I'm going to go WAY out on a limb here and guess that there are actually Leatherman collectors that AREN'T active on MT.O

I know. It's madness to think such things. :D

This is clearly aimed at the collector's market only.

I would definitely have purchased the collectors edition, absolutely no doubt about that. But today I had confirmation from Whitby&Co UK official Leatherman importer that only the Heritage will be available outside of US & Canada

So I've missed out. I'm not paying for the Heritage, so I'll go without. Nice  :tu:
But it now seems a little pointless going for the 40th in 5yrs either.
So, that's it for me.
Bitter much
I don't claim to know it all, but what I do know is right.

Thanks for the offer Twiliter, I appreciate that  :tu:
But shipping (tracked) plus Import Duty and of course the fine we have to pay to the mailman because its an import will push the price too high. It would probably cost me nearer £400. That's a lot of money simply because leatherman wont sell these outside of the US.

But thank you, really do appreciate your offer of help.

We could probably get it done, tax, shipping and all for under £285, so if you change your mind, I'll be here as long as they last from LM I'm sure.

£400 with tax and shipping is really high - and it is sad that the PST Collector's Edition won't be available outside the US. Even if there a quite a lot fans in Europe who would like to spend some money...

The £400 I estimated seems to be way off mark - sorry
I've just had another quick bash and it should come door to door for just under £300...much better (cough cough) which as Twiliter quite rightly predicted above - sorry, my bad.

I'm facing a personal dilemma. I've been offered the possibility of buying Ex-Wenger showroom stock, counter displays, stands, cabinets and the likes.
The cost is going to be a fair bit higher than my budget for the special PST. I cannot afford nor justify both and having had a sleepless night last night I'm still none the wiser. I don't want to overstretch myself, nor use savings as that is a slippery slope too.
The Wenger  brand is without doubt still my first love of all MTs & SAKs. And I feel nervous passing up as I have waited sometime for this opportunity to present itself. However missing the 35th PST will leave a glaring hole in the collection I have. I do have 2 BNiB PSTs  (SS & BO) from the original release years back. So this would compliment both the PSTs I have as well as completing the LM timeline anniversary models I've picked up along the way.

Damn Damn !!

An ex-Wenger showroom sounds more impressive than a LE LM.
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!

Tosh, if it was me, I'd go for the Wenger stuff first, it will be very hard to find later. Also, I think the 'heritage' model would fill the hole in the collection, maybe not with all the bells and whistles, but given the unknown production numbers, I think it has a good chance of coming down in price over the long haul. I could be wrong about this of course, but they do appear to be widely available. The collector models will get pricey I think, being only 500, but they also will most certainly be available on the auction site in the future, but only time will tell how high or low they will sell for. On the other hand you would have time to save up for it? My 2 cents.  :salute:  :)

Thanks to you both

My gut instinct told me grab the Wenger stuff.
I am expecting 2 displays any day, buying those gave leads to the ex-display set up. The international freight shipping will be costly I'm sure. But this time Mrs Tosh is fully behind this opportunity - never saw that coming!!
I'll wait until everything comes in then begin showcasing

I received mine today. Number 49 of 500.  Very nice quality box, letter of authenticity, challenge coin and a pamphlet telling some of Tim’s story. Very nice addition to my collection. I now have 98 leathermans.

Thanks. It is definitely a passion that I enjoy. Wife gives me a hard time because it is in the living room. But I was able to add a spot light yesterday with only a roll of the eyes. Lol.
