Oh dang why did you have to say that........  :P

I have not cut myself in a while, but i'm about due. I have a permanent scar from the last one and thankfully the numbness went away in my finger.

If I cut myself with the Cold Steel i'm probably losing a finger.  :D

Ok be gentle guys. This is my first attempt at a making a knife.  It is an old File.  The grinds are not even however it has taken a good edge and cuts well. The wood for the handles was a gift from my father in law and is cocobolo.

Ground mate. Heat treating was fun, bloody big fire in the garden and long handled tongs. Worked well though.

Thanks Hubert.
The edge is holding well. However as in this country carrying a knife like this is a big no no, it has only seen limited use in the garden.

That's a nice looking knife mate.  Did you make it or is it bought?

Gardening can be fun. :)
I do not edc a fixed blade, although it is still allowed to carry in my country (also I live out of town, where people do not bother you so much).
Among other things, I'm helping a local organisation in preserving our landscape, doing fieldwork and such. So luckely I get to use sharp tools often.
The knife was made by Bob Dozier, a professional knifemaker. No way I could make that from scratch. I bought it long time ago.
At the moment I am building a new handle (arizona desert ironwood) for a wharncliffe blade (charcoal forged).
