Not quite sure yet...it is the only knife in the Fibrox line that looks like it might work as a field knife. The reason it is called a Rabbit knife is that it is intended for boning rabbit...and I assume other game animals.

The blade itself is a stiff wide boning type, at the spine it is about the same thickness as a Mora Clipper.

I sharpened it as I would a SAK...widened the secondary bevel a bit and rounded the shoulder on sandpaper to a slight convex. It is stupidly sharp and makes shavings easily on the poplar and cedar I tried it on.

While I would not carry it as a primary, it would work well as a Bird-and-Trout...as well as a camp kitchen knife.

It only cost $10 and I thought I would give it a go and see what it is capable of.

Here's my old LL Beans Trout knife...basically a flexible narrow boner...carbon steel and also capable of getting stupidly sharp. Cleaned a lot of trout and squirrels with this one in my teens...back when I only had a couple of knives :P

Right now I'm restraining myself from re-profiling the edge and stripping off the paint. I'm just going to polish up the factory edge a bit and see how it works in it's original configuration before I do any alterations.

Didn't Herters get into hot water for nicking the Grohmann design ???

I know they were the US importers originally, but did they make the No1 under liecence or something ???

I've just completed a trade with DavidBinGA for one of these.

I thought I should post a pic of it whilst its still looking pretty.  It will be coming to the meet for testing.  A condition of the trade was that it was reviewed for the site.  I figured I'd get my fellow Brits to assist in that process :D

Dunno...I don't think R. Murphy would still be making them today if it were so. - R. Murphy knives

While they resemble Grohmanns, there are differences in detail.

I just rebuilt this AFSK sheath this morning...it was a factory second with bad rivets and stitching. I added a FIresteel loop in the process.
