I know! It felt SO solid.. I was watching a "Knife Destruction" vid on Youtube and the CRK Project I and Green Beret both were terrible choppers though.. They were excellent wood splitters though.. I really like how the knife is one piece of steel though; that's sweet!

Great thread! You guys have excellent taste in blades. I finally had a chance to snap some pictures of my "Outdoor" fixed blades. Sorry about the terrible lighting  :ahhh

Koster Bushcraft in CPM3V Steel (JRE Sheath & GoingGear Ferro Rod)-

And a shot of them in their sheaths -

That fixed Grip is a nice looking knife.  How well do you rate it?

The Fixed Grip is a great knife. The rubber inserts get nice and grippy when they get wet and I'm a big fan of 154CM steel. The sheath is not the most comfortable though. I really like leather sheaths for my fixed blades so I may be biased, but it is serviceable and does its job.

The Koster knife is the real winner though. If anyone has a chance to pick one up I cannot recommend it enough. In fact he's doing a run this year and I've already sent him a deposit. Looks like I'll have two of them pretty soon  8)

Do those Koster knives come in carbon steel?  Every time I see one in a thread it catches my eye..especially that cool sheath.

CPM3V is not a stainless steel, it is a carbon tool steel.  He also makes them in stainless - 154CM.

Here is a graph from crucible as you can see CPM3V is bomb proof.

In the chaos of eBay UK chucking off knives yesterday I saw this...

(image swiped from kydex-maker.co.uk hope they don't mind as they're getting a link :) )

It had a make me an offer option on the buy it now so I did and won it.  Credit to the seller, it arrived this morning  :tu:

My first custom fixed blade is a modified Benchmade 190 Hunter.  Got to love those orange G10 scales :D

Here is one I had kind of forgotten about.  It was my first attempt to get a "bushcraft" type knife.  It's by Cudemans and it is surprisingly good for the money at around £35.  I did a real number on it while I was learning to sharpen but it actually takes a really good edge.  The sheath is a work of horror though.

Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

I had to go check on that.  Looks like it is a Cudeman 153L.  Looking at the site I got it from it's even cheaper than I remember at about £25.

There doesn't seem to be anyone importing it into the US.

The majority of the sellers I can find are in the UK. This Olivewood version is nice looking - Knifeman
