Just had one of SAK Guy's favorite parts of the day. A visit from the UPS guy! :D

I joined the club. Here's my Becker BK5:

I picked up some custom micarta scales from this Ebay vendor. Definitely nice to have a few choices over the standard Ka-Bar micarta scales. I wonder why Ka-Bar hasn't bothered to put out a few different color choices?

The scales are nice. I got the brown and tan ones. They look darker like the vendor's picture in person. The color tones are a bit washed out in my picture from the window glare in the background.

They also seem just a touch smoother in finish than the Ka-Bar ones (which I have on my BK7).

That looks suspiciously like a Ka-Bar USMC except for the handle contour. Is that 440 or did they make that one in 1095?

It's the awesome Buck 420HC with a powder coating. The 420HC from Buck is legendary because of the heat treat.

Put pump in car, get in car (chilly and my boss texted me), look back after a minute, notice more gallons than my car could've held from half full, get out and see that the nozzle had fallen out and pumped ~14 gallons onto the ground. So now I'm being sued for over half the money I've made my whole life... Quite stressful when in between jobs, and unable to afford even the court filing fee. Just one of those "life" things I guess.

Wow, that sucks. Don't they have oil drain wells there? Sounds huge amount they are asking. What got soaked there?

Apparently they had to build a vent through their building, as they said they are not equipped to handle a spill. They want $5000, the max for my states small claims court.

A petrol forecourt that isn't equipped to handle a spill!?!?!?  :o Sound like there's some major negligence on their part. Health and safety executive would shut them down over here. They didn't provide adequate measures to prevent it happening, and they didn't provide control measures is their preventative measures failed. It's been a while since I wrote any H&S policies, but over here that would probably be a breach of HASAWA 74, Management regs, COSHH regs, PUWER regs, fire regs..... and probably several other regs I'm not familiar with as I don't work in that field. Do you have facilities to seek free advice over there?

Absolutely! The Buck 119 doesn't normally interest me, but that one is certainly the exception! All the best elements of the Buck, with all the best elements of a Kabar (which doesn't interest me by virtue of being carbon steel). Excellent!!

I think you should get some enviroment agency to check if their yard is even legal. Like 50ft sai,  they would have been shut long time ago here too.

Thanks! My Dad hunted with a 119 for years till the fire took it...it was tough! I think this one will have a big following too. I kinda wish it had a std 119 sheath in brown leather.
