I don't believe I've shown this knife before.It's a Randall Fireman Special.It's a non-catalog item and it's built like the proverbial brick outhouse.LOL

It has a 4″ blade of ¼” stainless with an extra-heavy beveled blade, single nickel silver hilt and a tang that runs through a channel in the handle. It has a 4 1/2" black micarta border patrol shaped handle and it weighs a hefty 11 oz.

Is it the lighting/photo or is there a slight curve to the knife?

It must be the light,as I can't imagine the force necessary to bend 1/4" thick blade.

Often it happens during the heat treat. IMO it doesn't take anything away from such a beautiful knife.

That Randall Fireman is one attractive knife.  I also thought it looked bent, funny how the light gave that illusion.

A few more Bucks arrived recently.

The first is a model 120 and it's the largest knife in their classic series.

The next one is a 121 and this was their "fisherman' model until recently. It was dropped and replaced with several more modern designs.

Both have the Boone and Crockett logo placed on the handle and two shibboleths of the club are scripted on the blades.

Razor sharp and solid as a rock but that awesome big steel pommel has too acute an edge in some grip angles. A radiused outside edges would ease the transition areas. I'll see to it.   :tu:

Morakniv Bushcraft Black stuck in a log. Full disclosure: it did not chop this log in half, but it did help me chop up a bunch of other brush. There were complaints when I got this knife about edge chipping and rolling... I haven't had any of those problems, but I do keep a small secondary bevel on it, probably around 40° inclusive. In my very limited experience it's a decent lightweight chopper, good for limbing especially. Worth the price though? I'm not sure about that, it's still fairly expensive. Plus, heavier work requires more weight... I think the BK7 strikes a better balance between size and capability. :tu:

May it be as the Pattern has chosen.
