My only experience with scandi is mora scout, and it's too acute for the steel to hold edge for reasonable amount of time.

I only use the full-width Scandi grind on a few specialized knives...mainly small blades reserved for carving. Most of mine have a small secondary, but I tend to blend it into convex by knocking off the top shoulder.

Mora grinds get better after they have been sharpened a few times to get rid of the de-carburized steel from the manufacturing process. I've experienced edge rolling on quite a few new Mora...especially laminated blades...they got better...

Great line-up.  What is the Marbles(sp?) axe like to use, they look like they have quite slim shafts to me.

Mike I think the golok is one of the BRKT ones which I'd love to see in the flesh.

Yeah, that Golok is a Bark River.  It's AWESOME!!!  I'm a Bark River fan, as you can tell.

I just got that Marble's axe a couple weeks ago.  Haven't got a chance to use it, but it does feel a little "cheap" compared to my Wetterlings.  I do prefer the shaft of the Wetterlings.  Feels better in the hands, for sure.

It certainly does.  Balanced very well, with a very nice convex edge.  It goes through brush all day, and all it needs is a couple strops to bring it back to razor sharp.

Agreed!
A2 is probably my favorite steel! And Bark River's heat treat, is just fantastic.

It depends on who made it, there are variations in the pattern.

Nice, I like Grohmanns

In fact I have a couple carbon steel #3s on the way...whenever the Canucklehead Post gets them to me...it's been over three weeks since I ordered them.
