Probably need to buy a world map next  :-[

I've been 'saving up'
Motor and pulleys from a lathe
parts from an old 'cross trainer'
assorted pieces of useful crap
and a few skateboard wheels

What could possibly go wrong?

Funny you should mention that, I was at a local hardware store buying belts & stuff, conversation went towards 2x72" belts and the guy told me somebody had been in there asking about belts, and looking at replacement wheelbarrow wheel to use as contact wheels

I'm humbled by people who go that route, and I was phoned by a complete stranger on Sunday, busy with his first knife and looking for advice.  The knife looks excellent, made from an old file, and he used an angle grinder and filing jig to get where he was.

So I ask myself, an I doing it the lazy way? I have to be honest, I get more frustration than satisfaction from "tooling up", and I believe the time it would take to build something myself is just too much.
Now where this really bites me in the smurf are the new and very necessary shop lights that have been waiting 2 months to be installed.....

I would love to buy a ready made machine, probably £600 to £900+ I reckon so not for a year or two....
So it will be home made for me, there's some great ideas on you tube  :tu:
There are some really skilled and clever makers out there making perfect beltsanders/ linishers
But I found this is the most inspiring build I have seen on the tube  :hatsoff:

Happy birthday Zed. Nice knife
Solving problems you didn't know you had in the most obscure way possible

"And now, it's time to hand this over to our tame race axe driver. Some say, he can live in the forest for six months at a time without food, and he knows of a secret tribe of only women where he is their God. All we know is, he's call the Styx!" - TazzieRob
