Got my first Busse yesterday and my first BRKT (Bravo-1) today.  I'll get some pics of my growing fixed blade collection hopefully tomorrow.

traded for both actually.  Busse came from Gadget Guy, and the Bravo 1 came from another forum, traded an AL and my Maxped Colossus.

My Bravo 1 and Fatty Game Warden

The Bravo 1 is quite possibly the sharpest knife I have ever handled.  I cooked dinner with it last night, and it blew every knife I had in the butchers block out of the water.  The Busse is the thickest knife I have ever seen or used.

While the Busse looks a good knife, the BRKT is just lovely.

Zack, how thick is the Busse?

My RC-5 is 1/4" and it's a beast. Any thicker and well, damn......

Most of the fattys are in the .270 region, this one is thicker than the regular game warden.

ok so I actually measured and this one reads .220 on the calipers.  Not quite as thick as your RC5, but plenty stout to be such a short knife.

Hi Julius,

I contacted Jenni about ordering a Phoenix Combat-1 knife that you designed; based on what I've read, I expect it to be even more impressive than the Phoenix-2 and Korshun I just purchased.

BTW, i couldn't help but notice similarities between the Extrema Ratio Col. Moschin knife and the Phoenix  ;)

well the Kizlyars showed up and my old man "appropriated" the Korshun  :salute:

(Image removed from quote.)

next up, a Phoenix 1-Combat (German market only), backordered until ????

yeah sorry about that,,.. unfortunately kizlyar has always a delay with the knives, jenii orders  20 or 30  knives of some  model  for customers  and then by the time she gets it she has as many more orders again orders, but it she should get them soon..
it is not in serial production in the factory,, so  her orders just get pushed back constantly.. also it is all made by hand.. sheath stitched by hand, ect.. so  it gets delayed ....

here is your phoenix combat with the handle removed.

:) yeah just as bit.
the line of milled kizlyar knives goes back to Extrema ratio...
there was originally 1 knife, "alligator", it is discontinued now  many many years........
it was just a copy of  the original  e/r knife. the one with the tanto  blade and the rubber diamond checkered handle  . but this was years back when e/r was only a small company.. and kizlyar was only selling in russia,,
i had not even heard of kizlyar my  self, or  set foot in dagestan..
i think it started as a customer order or such , somebody sent them a  drawing of a knife and they made to the picture,,  .. then changed the design into several different models with the same handle  and produced them in serial,
when it was know that  they were making a knife that was a copy of the E/A knife they dropped it from production,  (youve got to remember dagestan is very isolated so this took a while......... )
but by the then... e/r genetic was in the knives... one could say, and so  some features had stuck,
liked the milled blades,  although most e/r knives are ground now..
so thats how they got such a look ..

Well i like how the milled "rib" on the Kizlyar extends the full length of the blade - i was surprised by how well balanced it felt. Likewise on the Phoenix 1 Combat, i was attracted by your idea to use DIFFERENTIAL heat treatment on the blade, and the Youtube video (now removed) by that German guy really sealed the deal for me - shame the vid isnt on there anymore, it's great

I don't have a picture, but I spent the weekend with an old dog musher, and he was carrying a Grohmann Canadian Belt Knife. Quite possibly, the most gorgious medium-small fixed blade I have ever seen
