yeah just as bit. the line of milled kizlyar knives goes back to Extrema ratio... there was originally 1 knife, "alligator", it is discontinued now many many years........ it was just a copy of the original e/r knife. the one with the tanto blade and the rubber diamond checkered handle . but this was years back when e/r was only a small company.. and kizlyar was only selling in russia,, i had not even heard of kizlyar my self, or set foot in dagestan.. i think it started as a customer order or such , somebody sent them a drawing of a knife and they made to the picture,, .. then changed the design into several different models with the same handle and produced them in serial, when it was know that they were making a knife that was a copy of the E/A knife they dropped it from production, (youve got to remember dagestan is very isolated so this took a while......... )but by the then... e/r genetic was in the knives... one could say, and so some features had stuck, liked the milled blades, although most e/r knives are ground now.. so thats how they got such a look ..

Well i like how the milled "rib" on the Kizlyar extends the full length of the blade - i was surprised by how well balanced it felt. Likewise on the Phoenix 1 Combat, i was attracted by your idea to use DIFFERENTIAL heat treatment on the blade, and the Youtube video (now removed) by that German guy really sealed the deal for me - shame the vid isnt on there anymore, it's great

Nice and pretty rare . I loved the Old Skool Al Mars . Used to always pack a Fang in my Left boot . The original Shiva was a real bute .Chris
