Bargeon a French made "SAK"
on: January 28, 2018, 09:33:55 AM
The title says it all. This is what appears to be an early ?1950s? French made 2 layer knife. Tools include 2 blades, can opener, screwdriver/cap lifter, corkscrew, and awl. Handle scales are aluminum with a uniquely detailed shield crest and engraved lanyard bail. Pics include a Vic Climber for comparison.
Does anyone have info on this Bergeon?
Most all of the search results I have come up with are switchblades or a 2 blade pen knife.

More pics

As for condition I would put this at good-very good. There is some pocket/coin wear on the edges of the outer scales, but mill marks are visable on the middle liner and other spots. The blades are sharp and there is light scratching but no signs of home sharpening. It really is just dust and patinia like it spent most of its life in a drawer or box.

Bergeon you say?

As far as I know Bergeon, today, is a producer of all sorts of jewelers/watchmaker's equipment.

Seems my pic of the roll mark didnt turn out.
As you can see the stamp is incomplete with a lite strike on the upper half

And heres the description from the seller I bought it from:

"Auctioning a used vintage/antique Swiss Army style Sportsman Utility pocket knife. The handle is aluminum and displays an engraving of a crest with cross. The main blade reads Bargeon, and only the letters LE can be read above (refer to pictures). The knife blades and tools use a slip joint locking mechanism to lock/hold the blades/tools solidly into place with zero play. The main blade and small secondary blade have good opening and closing snap. The blades have been sharpened some over time. Uncertain country of origin or age, looks early 1900's. Everything is tight. Please refer to pictures for measurements and a better overall description. Thank you for looking."
