Glen, I carried the Huntsman again today.

I guess I've fallen for it all over again.   The problem is, I haven't yet owned a SAK I didn't like.   I fear I'm a lost cause.......

How has it been carrying the larger 111mm for you?   ???

This challenge really brought home the idea that I could comfortably carry a 111mm as an EDC, maybe even in preference of a 91mm. But then I went back to the Huntsman...... I don't know....I'm lost here.....

Sounds like my own (and everyone that has talked about it) ideas around it.

I think I could have a rancher in Hnnng pocket and be ok with it. Laws here in would probably not be, but I would.

I does makes me glance at Leatherman style multitools too. But they are not nearly as accessible for my budget compared to 111 mm and below.

I got a huntsman I bought for 14 dollars used on eBay with fresh hunter green scales. Damn it

I finished the challenge and have carried 91 and 84mm knives since, but I found the 111mm Outrider perfectly comfortable in my pocket.  It certainly was more comfortable than the CT41 that I carried on Friday. It will remain in rotation and is preferred for certain occasions.  That saw! :D

Laws are really the only thing stopping me as well. It's kind of annoying in a way that Finnish laws are so unclear on this, though on the other hand in the current political climate 111mm would probably be outright outlawed for carry if they relooked at them now.

Currently the practice is that bars and public gatherings are a no no for lockblades and it's additional trouble if you do attract law enforcement for some reasons. No huge issues really, but enough to discourage pocket carry in the city.

Any final thoughts?

(And tell me which card you want for the Mauser 108mm GAW. I think we can draw a card for it now that you are done. :tu:  G-mob, you sure you want to sit this GAW out?)

Well the Huntsman does have an ideal combination of useful tools and best proportions to carry comfortable.

My final thoughts over the 111mm is that is too bulky for my EDC carry. During the last 30 days it hasn't spent much time in my pants pocket for this reason. Most of the time I took it with me to work in my backpack, there I took it out and it spent the day on my desk. At home I also had it next to me on my desk, kitchen table, or wherever I was.

For some reason I find even the XLT more comfortable to carry than the 111mm

Oh, for those wondering what was in the box: a Rotel CD player deck  :mail:

It was supposed to match my Rotel amp, but apparently the color of the lettering changed at some point so the CD player had white letters while the amp has a bit more yellow-ish lettering.

Ah well, one can't have everything. The sound is great though!  :2tu:

No, I looked it up and they did change the color. The 855 has white lettering, the 965 has yellow-ish lettering. They did the same thing with the amps, the older 870 has white lettering, the 980 has yellow-ish lettering.

If you smoke a pack of Gitanes every day for two years (without opening the window) the lettering will be the same shade of yellow on both components!

How is the used market in Sweden, I, and probably some other members could look around Finnish sites, and most Finns will probably sell to you if you just shoot a message in English and say you're Swedish, Shipping on small items should be reasonable, if you'll tolerate an untracked letter.

Currently there's some selection in Finland, nicer Leatherman tools seem pretty expensive but there's one guy selling Original SwissTools with pouches for €40. Just tell me what kind of tools you're interested in and I'll shoot you a message if I find something.

The RA-980BX (your amp) was made between '92 and '95, the same time frame as my amp (RB-980BX) and CD player (RCD-970BX); both of them have cream colored letters and numbers.  Your CD player is older so maybe they used white letters and numbers then.  You probably figured this out, but since I was a Rotel nut back then as now, I thought I would post so I could compliment you on your taste in equipment. :2tu:
