Jaws ...but which one is better? I couldn't tell. Opinions?

I would say the one that comes with the tool set you prefer is better.  Though I do like spring-loaded scissors.

Oh, I only meant the pliers, otherwise it's a no contest, they're definitely not in the same league. :)

I want to know how old grannies who don't own Swiss Army Knives /Spydercos/ Bucks get into clamshell packaging... some of those things are so bullet-proof they defy even muscle-bound youngsters like myself.

Trying my hand at making a smoking pipe out of a block of Walnut.  I used the saw to cut the rough shape, and the awl and the blade to start the bowl.  To be continued....

That's cool! I'm interested to see how it turns out.

Will walnut work as a pipe wood? I know it's a hardwood, but I wonder how resistant to the heat it will be?  I suppose a good layer of pre carbonizing could help protect it.

Day 7:

Following along with the pipe theme, I was able to smoke a bowl last night. It was 80 deg F yesterday. In Ohio. In February

Day 19

Used the awl to put holes in some canvas for a field expedient sun shade for my south facing booth at the festival.  The afternoon sun has been brutal.

That is true.  The scissor spring on Mrs. Powernoodle PS4 broke on its own with no usage.

Day 21 -- Fireman

We had a delicious apple pie in our coffee break this morning, and of course I cut it with my Fireman. And both blade and saw were used in a couple of light pruning jobs. I would have loved an action pic but I´d need three hands or else put my camera (or my SAK) into someone else´s hands. And that I don´t like. So that´s why action pics are few and far between and I´m posting a random garden pic I made today.

Makes me cringe to see knife blades stuck into sandy soils.

Oh I could do an entire cringe thread for you. After all for a gardener the soil is a convenient place to stick your knife in when your hands are busy with other things. There´s many scratches on the  blade of my Fireman. Funny thing is they don´t show in my pictures, usually.

It's not the scratches, it's the crunch of sand in the hinges that really hurts!

Some great pics here folks, reminds me that working in an office I don't have that many reasons to carry 111mm more's the pity. They're a great tool. :like:
