Older black MTs: how common are they?
on: March 01, 2022, 09:48:13 AM
While looking up some stuff in my drawyer I found some older black MTs in their boxes that I have totally forgotten... (one clue that I have too many...)

Its a black LM Blast with CC and two black PSTs.

I wonder how common these were when produced or sold.
Were they sold in regular stores or only in military / PX stores or supplied?

Since I rarely see those I assume they were quite rare on the regular market, most shops only provide SS (besides Internet stores). Am I right?

For the most part, black oxide is a bit more rare than the SS counterparts  I am not sure about numbers produced though, just going by what I see :salute:

That Blast is way more rare than a stainless steel one as well as those PSTs :salute: :like: :like:

I just have them as spares, or spares for the spares for the users.
Got a Blast in rotation, and a SS backup and that black one as backup backup.
Got both a SS and BO PST in rotation, as well as one or two spare SS and those both BOs as just in case...
(did I admit I got a problem since I joined this very place? you guys did some bad things to me.  really.  :ahhh)

For the record, pics.

Some very nice pieces Shuya. From what I have seen most of the older Medium Duty and Heavy Duty tools also came in BO including the Mini Tool. I am yet to see a BO Micra and Flair. I dont think they ever made them in BO,

HI There
You say you may have too many ??
How can you have too many when you cannot have enough in the first place ?   :D
Very nice tools  :like:

If in fact you do have too many , I happily and gratefully accept donations of excess . Free to a good home aye ?
