365 day EDC challenge
on: February 04, 2018, 01:28:53 PM
I am going to attempt this. I have only carried my Spirit XBS (from the MTO store! :)) since Dec. 20, 2017.

A lot can happen in a year, so it will be interesting. I will probably not post every day, but I will only pocket carry the Spirit for the duration. I have other SAKs that I will use if necessary, my Pioneer X is in the kitchen drawer, my old SwissChamp in my tool bag (or a Climber), and a Wenger Clipper for nail care. I will try to only use these when I need something the Spirit does not have. Except a 58mm toothpick, which I carry in my wallet.

So barring any incarceration, apocalypse, homelessness, or other unpredictable circumstance, I will commence forthwith (Dec. 20, 2017 retroactive).

Day 47, 318 to go.  :ahhh

Sounds like me. I carried my Leatherman PST for five years. Every day without fail. Then moved onto my Wave for another five years.

Hmmm I wonder if I can pull the retroactive card on those two??  LOL

Best of luck!!!

Thanks Z unit, I have a few that would qualify for retroactive too, but not that I'm currently carrying!  ;)

Good luck bro

I can understand you not carrying it if you get incarcerated (even though there are places you could secrete it to evade detection), but it would be well handy in an apocalypse or a homelessness sitch.

This sounds like a great challenge!  I EDC'd my Huntsman for 32 years almost exclusively (a PST came into my life) until I went down the path of no return on the Forum and began the search for perfection    Go get 'em my friend!!

Wasn't sure if you had a vacant torpedo tube, but it sounds nicer than a highway overpass.  :D

32 years is a good stretch, there should definitely be a badge for that!  :ahhh

A year with the Spirit should be easy peasy. Time will tell...  :)

Hey, I've almost filled in the forms to collect my Irelands share of the MTO money that the Israeli government is giving us. When I come back I'll want Torpedo tube #2 back.  :pok:
You can have #3.
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

Good luck with this challenge Twiggy  I carried an Executive and a Rebar for a good number of years 7 for the Executive and I forget how many with the Rebar  A year shouldn't be too hard as you carry this tool (the Spirit) a lot anyways :salute: Keep us updated on your thoughts of it as well :tu: :like: :like:

Seems like it should be a pretty achievable goal. The spirit is a fine tool with lots of capability. Probably depends on your line of work and daily tool needs more than anything.

Being an office dweller primarily these days, I've gotten along fine with a pioneer as my only EDC for 5 years now.

5 years is a good run Gus, I carried the SwissChamp for 5 and enjoyed the heck out of it.

I do varying kinds of work both indoor and out, besides the at home stuff when I'm there. The Spirit has a good versatile tool set, so it should be fine.  :)
