Three generations of the SuperTool
on: February 05, 2018, 06:52:58 AM
Was digging thru my Leatherman tools tonight. Grabbed my three STs...sold my BO ST300 some time ago.

(I actually have a BO ST300 EOD with a MUT pliers head, but did not picture it...)

Nice!  :like:
Now you just need a LM Core. Came between the 200 and 300. Only one that size without tool clumping. :tu:

You can't beat that clean look the PST & OG SuperTool have. Sadly the unlocking mechanism (partially opening another tool) wasn't intuitive, and many a SuperTool fell victim to broken locks because someone decided opening all the tools was a good idea, and a flathead screwdriver was the solution.

The ST300 is such a great tool. It's the go to multitool from when I am doing errands and light maintenance around the home.

The ST 300 is king of my house when I need any sort of multitool/pliers at home.

Anything on the first or second that would be worth seeking one out for?

The 300 is technically the best of the Supers. But, the 200 is cool with its' rocker locks. The Core is awesome, because it has zero tool clumping. And the original ST is the easiest to carry around with the slim profile and lighter feel.

I still use my 200 blunt nose mod the most of the Supers I have, but the 300 is a stellar workhorse with the toolset and beefy pliers.
Here are some pics of the Supers/Core in my collection.

Nice GLBM :like: :like:

Everyone of them has different perks TBO :salute: I love the OG ST because it is the slimmest one and still has that bullet proof feel  The 200 made it more comfortable but I don't find the OG to be uncomfortable ;) The Core added push tab locks but they made it a bit blocky with the Zytel but it is very comfortable to use  The 300 took away the Zytel and went back to an old school feel with all the pluses of the Core and none of the minuses :tu: Therefore you  need to search them all out  :D

The 200 has a super cool serrated sheepsfoot blade.   :tu:

Thanks guys  :salute:.

I knew especially you two would like these pics, both being big fans of the "classic style" Leatherman tools (just as me  ;)).

They are, along with the Swisstool, the most photogenic tools out there, and since all three of us like taking pics of multitools, I guess it's only normal that we all like this type of tool.
