Rearranging my display shelf!
on: February 06, 2018, 08:41:32 AM
Wifey had been nagging for quite some time to clear up the space.. Found some mini shelf for cheap! Finally time to do some housekeeping..

This was the before the rearranging was done. I had 2 shelf of displays and a bottom level with messy stuffs. On the left thats not in the pictured, was a table full of other MTs that doesn't have a place on the shelf..

After putting in the mini shelves, I soon realize its impossible to lay out everything within the 3 levels... I ended have to put many of them very close together.. The Skeletools are lined up like motorcycles in a garage...

A little close up of where I had been dumping my salary..

I think its a little tidier.. now I need to get lighting for it..

In the end, the bottom level is still cluttered with many of them that I have no more space for... Plus side, my table is now cleared for work.. :)

Thanks guys!

Didn't quite like that I have to cramp everything together, but I guess I have to be contented, for now..  ;)

I have a working table now. Hooray! Still need some work on the bottom level.. And lighting...now its just light up by table lamps....

Messy level.....

Here you go! Plus a bonus pic.

Only downside, you have to manually open the handles wider to use the longer tools. There's only so much the spring will push outwards. Pliers flings out the same. No obstruction to the fluidity. Use the biggest binder clip you can find.

That spring mod was real easy to do. Especially for the mp400. Just a drop in. Cheers!

Those "shelves" are actually suppose to hang vertical. That's y there 2 metal loops. Kinda of like the oldish look so I didn't remove them. They are like less than $1.5usd a piece. I totally wiped all of them clean from THEIR shelf..  :D

I really like the staved wood - it's rustic, but not too rustic - it reminds me of old fashioned wine merchants. It looks great with all that metal on it!  :D

Wow, a Gerber Balance!  I haven't seen one of those in a while!  That is one of the multitools that has eluded me so far, and you never see them come up for sale!

Glad to see it has a spot up front!  :D

You are right.. Needs vs Wants.. Wants wins.. I lack will power.
I guess everyone have some kind of collections or love for something. Well some hobbyist collects watches and that one watch may just worth more than everything on that 3 shelves combine..

I think its easier to list what I have...

I am late by almost 3 decades... Autotool, Grappler, many Sogs etc. I didnt have a Flair either.. I tried collecting Buck but I am really have no luck with them. Bought twice and both happen to break behind the handles, damn those small spring tab.  I gave up on them.. Them begin riveted doesn't help at all..

I used to keep fish.. In a 5ft tank.. That went. Sadly, I am not allowed more space due to expanding family.. So now I am pretty much confined to this tiny space..

My hands on time with this is rather short. If only the pliers are spring load, it will make a excellent tool.

You know...........  this has really got me thinking again.  You guys and gals display your tools in neat ways.  Mine are sitting in a bin next to my bed  :(.  I really need to put something together to display my tools.

Time to pour over thread about displays.
