I see a 112 Slim Pro TRX on Buck's website. I think the 'TRX' stands for torx bolts.

(Image removed from quote.)

And that Ranger sport looks pretty sweet....

(Image removed from quote.)

I thought the same about the TRX  :tu:

And that Ranger Sport looks pretty pretty pretty sweet indeed  :ahhh

I'm feeling sporty today  :mail:

Unsealed micarta, smooth and grippy...

The bolster around the blade pivot is wider compared to the regular Rangers...

The back portion of the tang is better covered in closed position as well due to it...

All torx screwed construction is great! But the thumb stud is pressed on, which annoys me, because it gets in the way with my Lansky sharpening system (I might change them to somehing screwed)...

Buck typical fit and finish...

Due to the aluminum frame it's quite a bit lighter than a regular 112, and together with the deep carry pocket clip it carries very well in my front pockets. I love it  :tu:

 :ahhh

Nice!

I'm not sure about the thumb stud. I think there is one on my Slim Shady Pro. Makes it quite modern feeling. But I'm never sure I need it and it can only get in the way. On the other hand, sometimes OHO is a nice feature.....

That's how I ended up with two Griptilians. First one had a thumbstud. And then I discovered the Sheepsfoot model without a stud......

   ...thanks Jack

The thumb studs work well for me on this one.
On the 110 Slim Pro TRX I seem to have too small medium hands  :dunno:

I have some screw on  replacement thumb studs coming in in a few days/weeks and will see if they would fit.

Thanks, you just made life tougher for me   :-[

I was going to get an orange Slim Select and would have been happy. But after seeing your Ranger Sport I find myself smitten with it 😍 . However, I am currently waiting on my wife to give her consent on me purchasing a Paladin PT-525. There is no way she is going say yes to it and the Ranger Sport. The PT-525 would be a major addition to my electrical MT collection. But that knife looks so good to me  :poh:

Thanks and sorry Adam :D

If you can get your hands on a SOG Paladin PT-525 then go for it. The Ranger Sport will be there for a while  ;)

Here are a pair of 112's with N/S frames, genuine Ebony handles and S30V drop point blades.

Buck only made 62 of these and sold them on their site as "Web Specials".

I found these on that page, slim Select models with nail knicks, no thumb stud.
The Red a back to my EDC and the Pro may become my EDC #2 rotation selection :ahhh
The muddy girl BBW is just a pretty knife, nail nick blade a big plus!

Not knowing the whole diameter or the full measurements of most of the thumb studs available to buy I'm glad to announce that it was a success... I think  :salute:

Took my time on this not to dremel into anything important  :ahhh

The titanium thub studs from here...

https://www.flytanium.com/item/684/Titanium-Thumbstud-Kit-for

...are made for various Benchmade knifes and needed some filing unfortunately, because the whole in the blade was a millimeter too small and drilling it wider is not to my liking being it S30V...

At the end there was one full turn of screw available for the female part. But I could tighten it up just fine, and it works. I guess titanium is tougher after all. Still, I wanted to add some Loctite for peace of mind...

I like it much better than the original. It's smaller, appears to fit better, and is removable now...
