SAK scissors in my PPP
on: February 10, 2018, 10:18:28 PM
I'm sure this information is here somewhere, but I just spent an hour searching on SOG, SAK, VIC, scissors, and drill, with no relevant hits. Bunch of interesting threads, of course. Hence the hour. Anyway.

Picked up a SAK Climber to grab the scissors for my PPP.
Got it apart OK, but none of my drillbits will do more than scratch that undersized pivot hole.
What am I looking for. Carbide? Grinder? And what size is the PPP pivot hole?

The answers are carbide masonry bit at slow speeds, and 3/16" is a hair too big.

The SAK scissors will only fit in an edge slot, and I like the wire stripper.
90% of my knife use is opening packages, so I pulled the SOG blade and added a little SAK blade.
Pulled the washer on that side, and sanded down the washer on the other side, since the SAK scissors is thicker than the SOG blade.
Both the blade and the scissors hyperextend. I don't think that's going to bother me. We'll see.

I've used the diamond burr bit with my Dremel.  Slow and easy to not heat the scissors and water quench just in case.
