I think the pattern differences are because the Carbon model started out as a Colt model. SMKW retired most of the Colt models in late 2016, but I've noticed some are popping up again as Rough Riders--look at the  spey/skinner blade on the Colt and RR Carbon Mooses.

The canoe is one of my favourite patterns to carry. The Case variety were what got me into traditional slipjoints. I'd like to try a Queen in D2 if I can find one around and the cashflow is flowing. The Rough Riders/Bucks look chunky in a good way.
Here are my two: a Ducks Unlimited and natural bone red shield, along with a bermuda green Gunboat.

The Gunboat is Case's large canoe pattern. Two separated back springs, three blades (spear main, sheepsfoot, spay), versus the two adjacent back springs and two blades of the Canoe.
Longer, thicker, and more heavily 'armed' than the Canoe. Hence, Gunboat.

I just have three Canoes right now, but like the design. The German made grey bone Tree Brand Classic is my favorite of these three.  I carried it as a dress knife for many years "back in the day" before I got into newer type folding knives. I think it will be getting pocket time now since I have gotten back into traditional slip joints again. :)

Indeed! I wish I had more of that style Tree Brand. The handle and blade make it perfect for dark suit carry, since I am a stainless steel / sterling silver / Titanium kind of guy. :)

:hatsoff:  A old thread, I just reviewed,  things do change over time.

within the first page I made mention that I had ONE Buck CANOE!  That is no longer true.

Pictures will be included in next few days.  (i can not access from this device..)
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!
