Agreed, on both counts. Are there more economical shipping options to the EU? I hope I'm not giving away too much when I say that shipping costs that amount to over a third the price of this tool are a bit steep...  ;)

I'll have a closer look, but the postage is straight from Canada Post, based on the size and weight of the packaging- and SOG likes big packages.  I am willing to work with folks and remove the packaging to try and bring costs down.

There is a cheaper option for shipping, called International Surface Mail, which is an option I have removed from the shipping component as it takes about three months for the item to arrive and that truly is unacceptable.

SOG packaging is VERY good and easy to open, but not quite shippable, because the tool sits close to the box front where you can see it easily.

Maybe PM Grant about his offer to remove the packaging(that is awesome of him to offer). The tool should be strong enough to survive in a bubble mailer with a bit of protective wrapping.  :cheers:

SOG packaging is a large rectangular cardboard box with a plastic insert that holds the tool and accessories.  I'll post a pic tomorrow.

Taking it out of the box and shipping just the tool and accessories in a smaller box or bubble mailer would make a huge difference on price I'm sure. 

Also, please remember that the Power Access Deluxe is a huge tool and weighs a fair bit on its own.

If you place a pre-order then you will pay the going rate for the shipping with all of the packaging etc.  If you are interested in it without the packaging, send me a PM with your address and I will get you a shipping quote without the packaging and, if you decide you want to proceed at that point, give me your Paypal address and I will send you an invoice with the updated shipping info.

That goes for anything in the store- if you ever want to try and save a bit on shipping and want to know if the packaging could be reduced, feel free to send me a PM either here, by email at grant@multitool.org or through the store contact.
