SEBER RATCHETING KNIFE
on: February 17, 2018, 05:56:20 PM
Here are 4 Seber Ratcheting knives. The blade pivots on a ratchet mechanism and can be locked in 35 positions so that it can be at any angle you would like.

Interesting knives but not a new concept. These two knives feature a ratchet mechanism controlled by the lever on the top. Not sure why they needed it on such a large knife.

Thanks for sharing the pictures Ray.

The big difference is that the Seber ratcheting knife actually locks in each postion.

Actually they do lock in each position.Let me qualify that;they lock toward the CLOSED position.

The Seber locks so that it will not move either direction.

Those old ones are really cool looking!

I am curious as to why the lock needs three positions, not two.

I am curious as to why the lock needs three positions, not two.

The middle position locks it from going either direction.(so the blade will stay wherever it is stopped at)

The position closest to the blade will only let it open.(so once it is open all the way it is locked)

The position closest to the handle will only let it close.(so once it is closed all the way it is locked)

Thanks. I still wonder why it couldn't be

Position 1: open or
Position 2: locked wherever the blade is stopped at.

It's very cool nonetheless.  :tu:
